Black Garlic & Aged Cheese Polenta

Instant polenta, jarred black garlic, and finely grated aged cheese.

  • 1 cup instant polenta

  • 3 cloves jarred black garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cups vegetable or chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup finely grated aged cheese (Parmesan, Gruyère, or sharp cheddar)

  • 1/4 cup whole milk or cream (optional, for extra richness)

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • Fresh thyme or parsley

Instructions:

  • Sauté the black garlic: Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced black garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Prepare the polenta: Pour in the broth and bring to a boil. Gradually whisk in the instant polenta, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.

  • Simmer & thicken: Reduce heat to low and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the polenta is creamy.

  • Add cheese & milk: Stir in the grated aged cheese and milk (if using). Mix until smooth and well combined.

  • Season & serve: Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
