Candied Nuts with Espresso Dust

Caramelize shelf-stable nuts and coat with instant espresso powder for a sophisticated twist.

  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts)

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp water

  • 1 tsp instant espresso powder

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the coating: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, sugar, and water, stirring until the mixture becomes a syrup.

  2. Caramelize the nuts: Add mixed nuts and stir continuously for 5-7 minutes until they are evenly coated and golden brown.

  3. Dust with espresso: Remove from heat and immediately toss with espresso powder, cinnamon, and salt.

  4. Cool & serve: Spread nuts on parchment paper to cool completely before enjoying.
